From December 5 to 7, 2022
Belém - Pará - Brazil
The Amazon Initiative for Tropical Bite Research (IAIMT) is composed of researchers, members of academic institutions, national government agencies, non-governmental institutions, and international organizations. The group was established in 2019 with the goal of creating transdisciplinary solutions to the problem of animal bites and related diseases in Amazonian communities.
The IAIMT meeting is an international scientific event that aims to occur annually. The proposal of the event is to bring the most recent findings regarding the surveillance, control and prevention of animal bites and the diseases associated with these diseases, especially in the Amazon region. The event aims to bring together researchers, undergraduate and graduate students, as well as public health professionals to share knowledge and experiences that should culminate in the establishment of new partnerships with colleagues from other countries.
The organization of this first IAIMT meeting is being led by researchers from Brazil and Peru and will have a scientific committee composed of internationally recognized researchers.
